A 53ft 2010 Alchemy Boats 4 berth traditional stern narrowboat.
Hips Ahoy is a well presented boat that was partially fitted out on land and only put into the water in 2014.
She is a ‘gas free’ boat with heating and cooking provided for by the diesel powered Heritage UNO Range and a solid fuel stove.
Quality materials have been used throughout the fit out and the design provides for a nice airy feeling.
Entering the boat from the front deck through the glazed doors is the open plan saloon and central galley.
The saloon has ample storage in the form of cupboards and shelving with a fitted flat screen TV. There is also a folding table to one side. In the forward corner is a solid fuel stove.
Currently fitted in the saloon is a ‘futon’ bed/settee.
The galley features genuine granite worktops and below these are fully integrated Bosch freezer and fridge. The cupboards and drawers have clever storage racks as well as ‘soft close’ hinges. Inset into the worktop is a stainless sink.
Further overhead cupboards provide extra storage.
Cooking is provided for by a Heritage UNO diesel fuelled range which complements the rest of the galley beautifully.
A doorway leads through to the shower room which has a good sized quadrant shower cubicle. A vanity unit is fitted with a small contemporary hand basin and there is a Dometic cassette toilet.
A further door leads to the sleeping cabin which has ample storage in the form of wardrobes, overhead cupboards and there is further storage beneath the folding king size ‘cross-bed’.
At the stern of the boat is the engine room / wet-locker where all electrical controls are placed along with a washer/dryer.
Double glazed windows are fitted throughout along with custom designed blinds.
In both the galley and sleeping cabin is a non-opening skylight allowing for plenty of light in these areas.
