A 45ft 1980 Colecraft 4 berth traditional stern narrowboat powered by a Russell Newbery DM2.
A rare opportunity to own a traditionally styled Narrowboat powered by a Russell Newbery diesel engine. Built by Colecraft, Osprey has all the features expected of a traditional Narrowboat.
Entering from the stern is a boatman’s cabin with Vintage solid fuel Epping stove. All the woodwork in this cabin features ‘Scumbling’ with red painted trim. Ample storage is provided with various cupboards and shelves. There is seating to one side and the front of the cabin converts to a double cross-bed. A ‘bullseye’ lens is fitted in the roof.
Forward of the boatman’s cabin is the heart of the boat; the engine room with a Russell Newbery DM2 diesel engine. There are opening hatches on either side, and a ‘pigeon box’ vent on the roof.
Immediately forward of the engine room is a WC / wet-room. This is fitted with a Mansfield type toilet, a small hand basin and a shower head.
The open plan galley is equipped with a gas cooker, fridge and a stainless steel sink and drainer. The worktop is tiled and beneath this are various cupboards and drawers.
The saloon has newly upholstered seating on one side; this converts to a double bed. A book shelf runs down the opposite wall. with a centrally placed solid fuel stove. At the fore-end of the saloon is a cupboard with fitted radio and wiring for a TV before steps lead through glazed doors onto the front deck.
As well as the solid fuel stoves additional heating is provided by an Eberspacher diesel boiler.
A full survey was conducted in March 2020. This can be made available when viewing the boat.
The Boat Safety Certificate has almost 4 years remaining, the certificate expiry date being August 2024.
Osprey comes fully equipped and is ready to use straight away.
